"Nothing Else Matters", é provavelmente uma das músicas mais conhecidas de Metallica, mas pessoalmente, prefiro a "The Unforgiven", que faz parte do quinto álbum da banda, Metallica, lançado em 1992. É aquela música que sou capaz de ouvir em loop e nunca me farto. É certo que nem sempre me lembro dela, mas quando oiço Metallica, é aquela que passa mais vezes.

Mais uma vez volto aos anos da minha adolescência em que as principais influências musicais (tal como cinematográficas), vieram do meu irmão sete anos mais velho. Cresci numa altura em que a malta jovem enchia as paredes dos quartos (quando lhes era permitido) com posters das suas bandas e filmes preferidos. O quarto do meu irmão não era excepção e, como tal, as paredes tinham posteres de Metallica, AC/DC, Pantera, Manowar, e por aí.

Numa onda de heavy metal, ainda hoje adoro algumas destas bandas, apesar de as minhas preferências irem mais no sentido do rock produzido nos anos 60 e 70, ou no rock alternativo da última década. Contudo, Metallica, é aquela banda que nunca deixou de estar nas minhas preferências, apesar de já não ouvir com tanta regularidade.
