These Boots are made for walkin

Nancy Sinatra
These Boots are made for walkin
1966

These Boots Are Made For Walking
you keep saying you've got something for me.
something you call love, but confess
you've been messin' where you shouldn't have been messin'
and now someone else is gettin' all your best

these boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

you keep lying, when you oughta be truthin'
and you keep loosin' when you oughta not bet
you keep samin' when you oughta be changin'
now what's right is right, but you ain't been right yet

these boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

you keep playin' where you shouldn't be playin
and you keep thinkin' that you will never get burnt
I just found me a brand new box of matches
and what he knows you ain't had time to learn

and my boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

are you ready boots? start walkin'!

Deliciosa Leitura Fantástica (1)

Nothing, no distances, no years, can be greater than the distance that's already between us, the distance of our sex, the difference of our being, our minds; that gap, that abyss which we bridge with a look, with a touch, with a word, the easiest thing in the world. Look how far away he is asleep. Look how far away he is, he always is. But he comes back...
The Dispossessed, Ursula K. Le Guin

Is it magic or is it perfection?

I couldn't possibly know until the moment it was said. One thing is to think, to imagine, to feel, but when those words are said the happiness is huge and complete. It's that sensation that makes your heart beat faster, one that puts a stupid but beautiful smile in your face, a kind of secure vertigo that makes you want to freeze that moment, or just stop time making the sensation endure. To share something so amazing, is it magic, is it perfection, or simply both together? All I know, is that my heart steel accelerates and shrinks every time I think of it.

Povo que lavas no rio

Amália Rodrigues
1969
Dulce Ponte e Mariza fizeram covers deste fado.

Povo que lavas no rio
Que talhas com o teu machado
As tábuas do meu caixão.
Pode haver quem te defenda
Quem compre o teu chão sagrado
Mas a tua vida não.

Fui ter à mesa redonda
Bebi em malga que me esconde
Um beijo de mão em mão.
Era o vinho que me deste
Água pura, fruto agreste
Mas a tua vida não.

Aromas de urze e de lama
Dormi com eles na cama
Tive a mesma condição.
Povo, povo, eu te pertenço
Deste-me alturas de incenso,
Mas a tua vida não.

Povo que lavas no rio
Que talhas com o teu machado
As tábuas do meu caixão.

Fear of the Dark

As músicas da minha vida (3)

"Fear of the Dark"
Iron Maiden
Banda: Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Bruce Dickinson, Nicko McBrain, Janick Gers
Álbum: Fear of the Dark
1992

Fear of the Dark

I am a man who walks alone
And when I'm walking a dark road
At night or strolling through the park

When the light begins to change
I sometimes feel a little strange
A little anxious when it's dark

Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something's
Always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone's
Always there

Have you run your fingers down
The wall
And have you felt your neck skin crawl
When you're searching for the light?
Sometimes when you're scared
To take a look
At the corner of the room
You've sensed that something's
Watching you

Have you ever been alone at night
Thought you heard footsteps behind
And turned around and no one's there?
And as you quicken up your pace
You find it hard to look again
Because you're sure there's
Someone there

Watching horror films the night before
Debating witches and folklore
The unknown troubles on your mind
Maybe your mind is playing tricks
You sense, and suddenly eyes fix
On dancing shadows from behind

Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have constant fear that something's
Always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone's
Always there

When I'm walking a dark road
I am a man who walks alone

A Hora do ÓDIO

Piece of My Heart

As músicas da minha vida (2)

"Piece of My Heart"
Janis Joplin [1943-1970]
1968

Piece of My Heart

Oh, come on, come on, come on, come on!

Didn't I make you feel like you were the only man -yeah!
Didn't I give you nearly everything that a woman possibly can ?
Honey, you know I did!
And each time I tell myself that I, well I think I've had enough,
But I'm gonna show you, baby, that a woman can be tough.

I want you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it,
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby!
Oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, oh, have a!
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby,
You know you got it if it makes you feel good,
Oh, yes indeed.

You're out on the streets looking good,
And baby deep down in your heart I guess you know that it ain't right,
Never, never, never, never, never, never hear me when I cry at night,
Babe, I cry all the time!
And each time I tell myself that I, well I can't stand the pain,
But when you hold me in your arms, I'll sing it once again.

I'll say come on, come on, come on, come on and take it!
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby.
Oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah,
Oh, oh, have a!
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby,
You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good.

I need you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it,
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby!
oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart, now darling, yeah, c'monnow.
oh, oh, have a
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby.
You know you got it -whoahhhhh!!

Take it!
Take it! Take another little piece of my heart now, baby,
Oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart, now darling, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Oh, oh, have a
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, hey,
You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good.
